19th Century Wooden Prison Door Blue

An impressive 19th century prison door dating from the late Victorian period, retaining a remarkable amount of original character and patina.
 
Constructed from solid wood with panels and metal studs, the front face is finished in layers of aged turquoise paint. Over its lifetime, the door has accumulated at least six different layers of paint, with extensive flaking and paint loss revealing the colours beneath. The resulting surface has a richly textured, distressed appearance that only decades of use can create.
 
The reverse is clad in a thin steel sheet with a heavily patinated white finish, reflecting its original institutional purpose. The door retains its the peephole, substantial sliding bolt and both original hinges, all contributing to its authenticity and historical appeal.
 
Exceptionally strong, heavy and robustly built, as you would expect from a genuine prison door of this period. The combination of aged timber, worn paintwork and original ironmongery makes it a striking decorative and architectural piece.
 
Presented in original condition with significant age-related wear, flaking paint, patination and signs of use throughout, all of which add to its character and tell the story of its past.
 
Ideal as a statement decorative piece, wall display, shop fitting, film prop or for repurposing into a unique table, headboard or interior design project.

Delivery Details
Delivery will be 1 man, ground floor, kerbside and will be 1-2 weeks (or sooner).
If you are unable to assist the courier and require 2 man delivery then there may be an additional charge.
Deliveries within a Congestion Zone will be an additional £15.
