Antique Framed Photo of A Boy

Antique Framed Photo of A Boy

SKU : F362

An antique portrait photograph of a young boy seated on a chair, presented in what appears to be its original frame, dating from the early 20th century.

The photograph has a lovely period feel and shows the boy posed formally in a studio setting. It remains behind protective glass and is housed in a decorative gesso frame with a tortoiseshell-style finish.

The photograph itself is quite distressed, with visible rips, tears, and wear consistent with age. In order to help stabilise it, a card backing has been added behind the image.

The frame also shows some chips and losses to the gesso, again typical for a piece of this age.

Despite the wear, it has a strong atmospheric and decorative quality, making it an interesting piece for display, particularly in period interiors, collections of antique photography, or as a prop.

Dating from the early 1900s (circa).
